Safe Haven Community Outreach

First Baptist Cares partners with First Baptist Church and the Greater Chattanooga Community foundation to provide short term housing for homeless families. Housing is a basic human need and First Baptist Cares provides resources for homeless family on a short-term basis. Families in need of shelter contact us to initiate a request for shelter, and FBC arranges shelter for homeless families through our network of vendors.

Memorial Hospital Family Meal Outreach

First Baptist Cares partner with First Baptist Church and Memorial Hospital to provide dinner for families who have family members in ICU on the first Tuesday of each month. This outreach provides the basic human need of food for families experiencing emotional and financial difficulties.

Hunger Community Outreach

First Baptist Cares partners with First Baptist Church, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, and the Greater Chattanooga Community Foundation to feed families and children through our Hunger and Safe Haven Community Outreach. We serve 15-20 families per month (200-250 families per year) by providing vouchers for families to receive food boxes from the Chattanooga Area Food Bank free of charge. Post pandemic, the number of families we serve has increased to 15-20 families per week. According to the 2020 Chattanooga Chamber Demographic Data, 45% of families living our 37403-zip code earn less than $24,999 dollars, with 15.7% earning less than $9,999 dollars. First Baptist Cares provides a vital service in helping to end hunger in our community.

Holistic Healing Outreach

For those experiencing mental health crisis resulting from the pandemic, First Baptist Cares refers those in crisis for clinical therapy and will paid up to $100 per session for 3 sessions. This service is rendered to help support the post pandemic mental wellbeing of individuals, families, and children.
